It’s that time of year again. In just a few days, the Wimbledon Championships will open their doors to a fortnight of world-class tennis and, accordingly, we at Sauce have compiled ten of our favourite locations in London in which you can fully embrace the season. Whether that be enjoying limited edition dishes and drinks designed especially in celebration of the tournament or simply cheering on Murray from a sunny roof terrace, you can find your perfect spot in the capital here.
Pan Chai, located in Harrods department store London, will be celebrating the tennis championships with a special Wimbledon themed dish of dried strawberries, candy floss and clotted cream dumplings with Champagne foam. Priced at £16.80, the dessert dumplings will be available from 29th June to 12th July.
Notting Hill’s much loved neighbourhood restaurant Kensington Place has an exciting new addition to its bar. Continuing its commitment to present the best of British, and in honor of Wimbledon, Kensington Place is to launch the Murray-tini cocktail. The cocktail has carefully selected ingredients including: Honeydew melon; Lemon juice; Belvedere unfiltered vodka; Cointreau; Angostura bitters; and Mint. Whilst Kensington Place is usually known for its excellent wines for this limited time come see the Murray-tini cocktail taking centre court. Game, set, match!
KIOSK King’s Cross, located beneath the Great Northern Hotel will be serving homemade waffles topped with English strawberries and clotted cream in celebration of Wimbledon this year. Tuck into these tasty treats for £4.50.
If you’re not fortunate enough to have nabbed a ticket for the main event, experience a taste of Wimbledon at Orrery and enjoy Igor’s fresh strawberry dessert garnished with meringue and strawberry sorbet, meticulously matched with three Rosé wines, priced at £18. With this decadent flight of three pinks, this bespoke dessert flight is guaranteed to get you in the mood to cheer on Johanna Konta to the final!
From 29th June to 12th July Shake Shack will be spinning up a limited edition strawberry marshmallow Match Point Shake—made with frozen custard (hand-spun daily at the Shack!). The Match Point Shake will be available at both the Covent Garden and Westfield Stratford City Shacks.
Paternoster Chop House in St Pauls have created three special cocktails and desserts to celebrate Wimbledon:
Strawberries & Cream Grand Slam (amaretto, dark rum, strawberry liquor, cream, dried strawberries); Centre Court (raspberry sorbet, fresh raspberries’ and Champagne); Wimbledon Refresher (muddled fresh strawberries and basil leaves, vodka, lemonade). The restaurant will also be screening the games on its sun-kissed terrace.

Plateau in Canary Wharf, will be screening the championships in its Bar & Grill Herbal Garden Terrace, and guests can sip on specially created cocktails inspired by the games, including:
Murray’s Gin Fizz (Fresh English strawberries, Bulldog London Gin, egg white, double cream, lemon juice, sugar syrup, top up with soda); and Game, Set & Match (Fresh cucumber, mint, strawberries, ginger and orange, Pimm’s N`1, lime juice, sugar syrup, topped with NYETIMBER Classic British Sparkling Wine).
Head chef Daniel McGarey has also created a Wimbledon themed dessert Game, Set, Parfait (Coconut parfait, white chocolate, spiced pineapple and kiwi).
The big tennis balls are back! As usual, Bluebird will be screening the games al fresco on its terrace. The restaurant will also be running a special menu on Men’s final day (12th July) just as they did last year and will be including dishes such as: Puglian burrata; half a grilled lobster; and Eton mess.

Armand Sablon, head chef of The Ten Room at Hotel Café Royal, has created a delectable Wimbledon Menu du Jour priced at £35 for three courses. The menu includes dishes such as: Summer vegetable, hen’s egg, chicken liver and truffle “tossed” salad; Cutlet of Cheery Tree farm pork, smoked belly apple black pudding and scratching’s; and a Tennis ball dessert.
Throughout the championship, The Trading House, a spectacular new pub on Gresham Street, will be serving a refreshing and quintessentially Wimbledon themed Strawberry and Mint Martini (mint, strawberry puttee, Ketel One vodka, strawberry liquer, apple juice and lemon juice), priced at just £7.95. Definitely not one to miss out on!
