Fiume
On 17 November 2017, Francesco Mazzei opened Fiume, a new modern Italian restaurant at the eagerly anticipated Battersea Power Station development. Fiume is situated right on the bank of the Thames, and has a large piazza-style terrace for guests to enjoy Francesco’s southern Italian recipes with stunning views over the river. From the menu, a tempting selection of cicchetti and antipasti includes Saffron and mozzarella supplì di riso and Octopus with cannellini beans, served alongside freshly-made breads. Handmade pastas follow, such as Burrata tortelli with hazelnuts and sage and Lamb ragout fettucine, while ‘Secondi’ include Beef tagliata and classic Aubergine parmigiana. In addition, Francesco has brought several signature dishes south of the river, such as his Zucchini fritti, Seafood fregola and Tiramisu.
Floating barges Darcie & May Green open on Grand Union Canal
In an unparalleled West-London water-top setting on the Grand Union Canal, two dazzling city barges, Darcie & May Green from award-winning Australian restaurant group, Daisy Green Collection, are now open for business. The gigantic boats boast an eye-catching exterior, designed by legendary British pop artist, Peter Blake. The all-day menu features the fresh and distinctive Antipodean-inspired food for which the group is renowned. By night, the site transforms into a buzzing evening restaurant and bar, offering Aussie dinner favourites, contemporary cocktails and an array of natural New World wines and local craft beers.
