These past few weeks have been all about indulgence. Cocktail lovers were spoiled with Martinis, Mojito’s and a fair few headaches during London Cocktail Week, and foodies across London came together during the London Restaurant Festival. But this week we’re taking indulgence to a whole new level and celebrating our ever faithful friend- Chocolate.

Apart from making it socially acceptable to eat chocolate for breakfast, lunch and dinner, Chocolate Week has hundreds of events, workshops and tastings across the UK.

Running from the 13th-19th October the week culminates in a Chocolate Show at London Olympia.

Making your way through a box of Roses whilst mourning the end of Bake Off is one way to indulge during the week, but if you fancy celebrating with a little more style, here’s our pick of the best events:

 

Gü and Plum and Spilt Milk

Chocolate experts Gü and restaurant Plum + Spilt Milk are coming together to create a Chocolate Week three-course menu. The menu features unique dishes such as, pan fried scallops with white chocolate and cauliflower puree and a sherry vinegar caramel as well as loin of venison with a cocoa nib roast squash and a bitter chocolate and red wine sauce. If that’s not enough to tempt you, the new limited edition Gü Chocolate & Tonka Bean Melting Middle will also feature on the restaurant’s menu during the week. Reservations can be made here. 

 

Café Royal

Carpaccio of Venison, chocolate marshmallows and parmesan 1

 

The Café at Hotel Café Royal are also celebrating the week with an exciting cocoa-centric menu. Highlights from the menu include Celtic Scallop Ceviche, with orange and cocoa nibs; Carpaccio of Venison, chocolate marshmallows and parmesan (above), and Cocoa Chipotle salsa and crispy fajitas. The Cafe is also creating bespoke “choc-tails”, designed by the hotel’s creative mixology team.  More information can be found here. 

 

Paternoster Chop House

St Paul’s restaurant Paternoster Chop House will be inviting us to indulge in Chocolate Childhood memories. Head Chef David Philpot will be creating three decadent desserts all based on our favourite childhood choco bars. Diners can choose from Bounty, Texan, Marathon bar or Snickers (above) inspired desserts, each priced at £6 for the ultimate sweet treat.
