Cornerstone, Hackney Wick

What: Tom Brown (previously head chef at Nathan Outlaw’s eponymous restaurant at The Capital Hotel in Knightsbridge) is to open his debut restaurant, Cornerstone in Hackney Wick next March. The 46-cover restaurant will showcase Tom’s own style of simple, seasonal and produce-driven cooking. The kitchen will be a central feature, and will double up as a counter-bar, seating eight guests.

Gucci Garden, Florence

What: Massimo Bottura, chef-patron of the three-Michelin-starred Osteria Francescana in Modena, is opening a casual restaurant at the Gucci Garden in Florence. Located inside the historic Palazzo della Mercanzia, which houses the Gucci Museo, the restaurant will be a new proposition for the world of fashion. Not aiming for Michelin stars, nor to be listed amongst the World’s 50 Best Restaurants where Osteria Francescana is currently ranked at number two, the restaurant will be part of a newly designed space, which will include a store of one-of-a-kind items and exhibition rooms curated by critic and fashion curator Maria Luisa Frisa.

Bluebird White City

What: 20-year-old Bluebird flies to White City. Bluebird has been a big hit on the King’s Road for 20 years and is now expanding. The first new Bluebird will be a 5000-square foot restaurant with year-round terrace in the former home of the BBC in White City

20 Stories, Manchester

What: Restaurant group D&D is set to open 20 Stories on the 19th floor rooftop of the No.1 Spinningfields building.  The 15,263 sq ft development will feature a Restaurant, Grill, Bar, and Terrace that will offer unparalleled 360-degree views of Manchester’s city skyline. Taking the helm is renowned chef Aiden Byrne. The former Chef Patron at Manchester House brings with him an intimate knowledge of the Manchester area as well as a wealth of experience working in numerous Michelin-starred restaurants.

Tom’s Kitchen Chelsea Refurbishment

What: Founded by chef Tom Aikens, Tom’s Kitchen Chelsea was the first of the group to open in 2006 as a modern British brasserie, serving national favourites and comfort food classics in a relaxed and informal environment from breakfast until dinner. Twelve years on and the restaurant is set for an exciting full refurbishment, bringing a modern and comforting feel to the interiors fit to match the food being served. A rearrangement of the floorplan will see the bar become a focal point and the new colour scheme and soft luxurious fabrics will bring warmth and cosiness to contrast the signature tile finish.

The newest addition to The Daisy Green Collection

What: The Daisy Green Collection have just announced their new 4,000 square foot project in Soho! The business currently spans London from Liverpool Street to Southwark, and are renowned for their fresh and distinctive Antipodean-inspired food, contemporary cocktails and array of natural New World wines and local craft beers. Founded in 2012 by two former City bankers, Prue Freeman and her husband Tom Onions, Daisy Green began selling outstanding coffees and smoothies from a van outside of the Gherkin.
