Last week, foodies, travel bloggers and digitally-minded Londoners all came together for the trip4Real Digital Retox event at The Hoxton, Shoreditch, for Digital Shoreditch 2015.

Travel tech start-up trip4Real celebrated the tech festival in style! Local trip4real foodie, Christabel, recreated some dishes from her famous London supper clubs while The Hoxton, Shoreditch offered plenty of fizz and delicious Soho Mule cocktails to the guests.  Christabel’s lovely colleague, Minerva, served up a range of treats from trip4Real brownies with pink mascarpone topping to blue cheese parcels with pomegranate seeds.   Christabel plans show-stopping supper clubs and dining experiences around London, from Mad Hatter’s Tea Parties to Botanical Cocktail evenings in her beautiful canal-side London flat – available to book via trip4real here

Another trip4Real local, Simon, popped by to say hello and meet the guests.  As a professional historian, Simon runs a tour called Dissenting London, uncovering the forgotten history of some of London’s greatest poets and preachers and exploring some of the capital’s most intriguing gardens, burial grounds, and churches. We were intrigued to hear his tales!

We met with media from Conde Nast Traveller, The Sunday Times and Courier magazine to bloggers such as Lela London and Prince Cassius. Hopefully some new trip4real “locals” were created on the night, inspired to make their own London experience to share visitors and Londoners alike.

Digital Shoreditch is a unique community event, celebrating the outstanding creative, technical and entrepreneurial talent of the UK, Europe and beyond.  With over 140 open networking events from creative and tech community, Digital Shoreditch run regular meetups, workshops and ‘hackathons’, giving thousands of amazing people the opportunity to come together and share their knowledge on the digital world, during the two weeks of the festival every year.

trip4Real is a pioneering community-driven travel platform enabling locals to become tour-guides and travellers to have authentic, local experiences alongside them.  As a tech start-up in its own right, trip4Real was delighted to get involved in Digital Shoreditch 2015, especially with their recent expansion to London.

The Hoxton, Shoreditch was an amazing event space. We took the Library, a lovely room with cool bare brick walls, bookshelves and sleek furniture, looking onto the courtyard garden. Guests also had use of the pantry, which turns into a bar later in the evening, and a retro popcorn machine which we all wanted to take home.

Thank you Digital Shoreditch, Hoxton Hotels and trip4real for a great evening!
