Introducing.. British Sausage Week!

British Sausage Week is a ‘celebration of the taste, quality and diversity of the traditional pork sausage’ and has run this year from the 4th to the 10th of November. If your keen to get involved then we’ve created a small pick of some of London’s great sausage destinations.

Shake Shack

Born in New York City’s Madison Square Park in 2004, Shake Shack is notorious for its quality burgers, flat- top dogs, frozen custard, beer, wine and more. With their first UK venture located in the heart of Covent Garden, it is a great stop-off point. We highly recommend their ShackMeister Sausage; ‘Sillfield Farm Cumberland pork sausage topped with cheese sauce and crispy ShackMeister Ale-marinated shallots’, the perfect Saturday night treat!

Salt Yard, Opera Tavern

Salt Yard and Opera Tavern are award-winning bars and restaurants, serving modern tapas inspired by the flavours and produce of Spain and Italy plus a superb selection of charcuterie, cheeses and Ibérico hams carved to order. The stylish, cosy interiors with leather banquettes and seats make it them the perfect place to enjoy long winter brunches at the weekend. Topically, they have just introduced ‘Venison sausages with polenta, gorgonzola and red onion’ to their delicious weekend brunch menu!

New Street Grill

New Street Grill is a modern British meat house and grill restaurant that combines both the traditional and contemporary and showcases the very best of British produce with cutting edge design. The restaurant is situated within the City’s oldest surviving warehouse, The Old Bengal Warehouse and offers outstanding food, a superb wine list and impeccable service in a fun, buzzing and dynamic environment. Currently, they are offering the ‘New Street Big Dog’ with ‘Caramelised onions, Lapsang Souchong mustard and ketchup’… one not to be missed when roaming the City this weekend.

Paesan

Located on the corner of Exmouth Market, Paesan is a rustic bar and kitchen serving simple, authentic Italian dishes which opened in July 2013. Paesan embraces cucina povera, the tradition of using simple ingredients to prepare honest and flavoursome food. Following on from their traditional ethos the team have created a ‘Fennel Sausage with Castelfranco lentils & soffritto’, delicious and out of the ordinary, certainly one to try if you’re in the area!
