It’s that time of year again, when Taste of London festival takes over Regent’s Park to showcase London’s top restaurants. This week’s foodie friday spills the beans of what goes on inside.

Kaspar’s at The Savoy Competition

Those of you heading down to Taste of London this weekend, be sure to enter Kaspars competition to win a VIP dining experience. The  prize includes:

All you have to do is find the Kaspar’s stand at Taste of London and simply tweet or instagram a fun photo of yourself with Kaspar, using the hashtag  #KasparsLondon.

You’ll be up against our very own Jo and Nicky, so practice that blue steel.

Opera Tavern

The Sauce team hot-footed it to Salt Yard Group’s Ben Tish at the Opera Tavern stand where they sampled some of his amazing dishes on offer, including courgette flowers with Monte Enebro and honey, slow cooked Ibérico ribs with Membrillo Glaze and a summer squash purée, and a wickedly indulgent  chocolate fondant with salted PX caramel and hazelnut praline.

Ben also demoed at the Weber BBQ tent where he russled up wood-chip smoked and chargrilled vegetables on the BBQ, served with a mascarpone pesto. Not a single burnt sausage or burger in sight!

Later this year Salt Yard Group will be opening their fourth restaurant which will be taking inspiration from Basque grill restaurants.

Benares

The eye-catching menu created by Michelin-starred Atul Kochhar of Benares isn’t to be missed, which includes squid rings with passion fruit chutney, chicken tikka pie and fennel infused lamb chop with mint chutney.

Lima London

Don’t forget to visit Lima London’s stand to learn more about the amazing restaurant, which is the creation of world-renowned Peruvian chef, Virgilo Martinez and his partners, the Gonzales brothers. Take a look at their mouth-watering Taste menu which includes quino causa, salmon tiradito, yellow aji pepper, and sea bream ceviche and tiger’s milk.

We were lucky enough to catch Virgilio Martinez doing a demo, having flown in especially from Peru straight to Taste. Now that’s dedication.

…and there’s more! Make sure you try out the amazing fare on offer at Naamyaa Cafe, Angler and Launceston Place, whose mouth-watering scallipop won best in show…
