Joel Harrison and Neil Ridley are drinks writers, consultants and presenters. They have been shortlisted for ‘Communicators Of The Year’ in the International Wine and Spirits Competition and their first book Distilled: A Guide To The World’s Best Spirits (Octopus Publishing) was awarded ‘Best Drinks Book’ in The Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards 2015.
Joel and Neil are at the forefront in providing expertise and innovation in the alcoholic drinks world: from Whisky to Gin, Port to Prosecco, Cognac to Craft Beer and other exotic drinks, the duo have a wealth of knowledge to share with audiences across the globe. This autumn saw the release of Distilled: A Guide To The World’s Best Spirits the first book they have penned together. Recently, they were both made ‘Keepers Of The Quaich’, one of the highest accolades in the Scotch whisky Industry.
The pair have appeared on several prime time television shows including slots on ITV’s The Alan Titchmarsh Show, C4’s Sunday Brunch where they regularly appear as drinks experts, and on international radio programmes from in UK, the USA and India, discussing the finer points of the world of wines and spirits. Their approach is simple: dispel the myths and misunderstanding which surround the drinks world, presenting a clear concise message to the growing number of those drinkers eager to experience the many flavours and aromas from around the globe.
