Mecco and Absolute Taste re-brand to create luxury event design company

One Event Management has acquired Lyndy Redding and McLaren Technology Group’s award-winning event design company, Absolute Taste. The exciting move will see One Event Management’s premium catering brand, Mecco, and Absolute Taste re-brand to create Europe’s foremost luxury event design company.
Together, they will operate as Absolute Taste across a broad spectrum of hospitality services and concepts including Absolute Taste’s existing portfolio of restaurants and cafes, private jet catering, bespoke events, fixed site contracts and performance sports including F1 hospitality; as well as Mecco’s long-established contracts with live events and high-profile sporting occasions.
Best practices will be shared under the newly created Absolute Taste, with existing teams and offices unaffected. Further investment in product innovation, coupled with the very best talent will provide a strong opportunity for growth.

Neil MacLaurin, Chairman of One Event Management said: ‘We couldn’t be more pleased that Lyndy and her team will be joining forces with One Event Management. Absolute Taste marks the best of the best in food design and hospitality, and is a fantastic fit as we strive to reach the pinnacle in food, drink and customer entertaining. We’re busy planning this year’s events and our new team is sure to knock creativity out of the park and create some phenomenal customer experiences.’

Lyndy Redding, Founder and Managing Director of Absolute Taste added: ‘I love Absolute Taste. It’s my life and the people who work for us are my family, therefore this is such an exciting opportunity as it widens our scope and brings us a raft of fabulous new events to work on and extraordinary people to work with. Being part of the McLaren Technology Group for 20 years has been amazing, we will always have their DNA in the business and we look forward to continuing working with McLaren both in F1 and at the McLaren Technology Centre. This new chapter will see us working with like-minded individuals who all share our unique attention to detail and unrivalled levels of service.’

Jeremy Wood, Chairman of Mecco, commented: ‘We’re all excited by this wonderful opportunity and look forward to getting to work with Lyndy and the Absolute Taste team to continue to provide a level of excellence to our lovely existing customers, while adding a spectacular new portfolio. Bringing our teams together – investing in people and design – will take us to the next level.’

Jonathan Neale, Chief Operating Officer, McLaren Technology Group, said: ‘McLaren and Absolute Taste have grown together for over two decades and share the same passion for detail, refinement and perfection. If it’s true that an army marches on its stomach, then the 3,000-strong McLaren army has been expertly sustained by Absolute Taste who cater to the same high standards for our own people and for our VIP guests both here at the McLaren Technology Centre and wherever we’re racing in the world’.

‘The change of ownership will allow Lyndy and her dedicated, hard-working team at Absolute Taste to pursue exciting new opportunities while enabling McLaren to focus on growing our core technology businesses. I’m pleased to also confirm that Absolute Taste will continue to be our preferred hospitality company. On behalf of everyone at McLaren and our Partners, we thank them and the entire Absolute Taste team for their unfailing professional service and for ‘getting the job done’ with considerable style. We wish them all every continued success.’
