To celebrate National Honey Week this October (23rd – 29th), Great Northern Hotel in London’s Kings Cross have collaborated with The London Honey Company, to curate a special menu which will be served in GNH’s beautiful restaurant – Plum + Spilt Milk.

The three-course menu (£45pp), designed by Head Chef Mike Denman, will be an alternative option to the à la carte menu, and will feature three different types of honey from The London Honey Co. The starter will comprise of Grilled Stawley goat’s cheese, Shropshire honey, cider poached apples & cobnuts, followed by Suffolk pig’s cheeks braised with Borage honey & cloves, glazed carrot & mustard creamed potato and for dessert, a Bell Heather Honey & buttermilk pudding, spiced raspberries & lavender shortbread.

In addition, GNH’s head bartender Harry Nikolaou has created ‘The Bees Knees’ cocktail featuring; Eldorado five-year old Gold Rum infused with banana, honey infused with cinnamon, Orgeat syrup, lime, Greek yoghurt, available at the GNH Bar (£10). Honey cake will also be offered complimentary to guests of the hotel, and will be available at all Pantry stations within the hotel. KIOSK, GNH’S takeaway deli, will be giving away little pots of honey with their porridge.

The London Honey Company was founded in 1999 by Steve Benbow and begun on his roof in Tower Bridge. It was here he first installed his honeybees, determined to bring a taste of his Shropshire roots into his life in the capital. They were quickly invited to some of London’s most iconic rooftops, including Fortnum and Mason’s and the Tate. Their range is available in high-quality stores as well as online.

The special menu will be available at Plum + Spilt Milk throughout National Honey Week (23rd – 29th October) for both lunch and dinner.
